Environmental Policy

I           Philosophy                                              

All Employees at Harvem should be committed to ensuring that the company’s operations comply with both the letter and intent of all applicable environmental laws and regulations and pose no significant risk to human health or environment. The company will continue to build on its strong record of fulfilling this commitment. Harvem will continuously improve its environmental performance through economically sound and technologically practical processes that are based on the best available evidence and which produce meaningful, measurable environmental improvements. 

II          Scope 

This policy applies to all employees and operations of Harvem. 

III        Provisions

Harvem will: 

  • Ensure that its operations comply with both the letter and intent of all UK and EU Environmental Laws and Regulations. 
  • Conduct training programs necessary to inform employees of this policy and their respective responsibilities for environmental compliance and management. 
  • Integrate environmental considerations into business planning and decision making at existing locations and in planning new operations. 
  • Continuously improve its environmental management systems and environmental  performance through practices such as recycling waste and efficient use of resources. 
  • Communicate the company environmental policy and its strong commitment to environmental responsibility to its employees, customers and suppliers. 
  • Promptly fulfil its legal obligations to disclose potential environmental hazards posed by its operations. 
  • In the event of a company incident or accident, which causes or has the potential to cause significant adverse impacts to the environment or human health , the company will respond appropriately and timely , curtailing operations if necessary.
  • Conduct periodic self evaluations of its compliance and environmental management systems.  

Responsibility 

  • Directors – Directors have overall responsibility for environmental performance and compliance within the Company. 
  • Employees - All Harvem employees are expected to understand their responsibilities for environmental compliance and management. They must comply with the letter and intent of this policy and the environmental laws and regulations relevant to their respective jobs. 

Products and Services 

Harvem continually evaluates the range of environment products offered in it’s catalogue offering advice and supplying supporting information to suppliers.  Paper products are evaluated for their impact on the environment and where virgin pulp is used, we ensure that the pulp is sourced from managed forests.Products that can be recycled are returned to suppliers for recycling or collected by a nominated recycling collection company.  

  • Example 1 The supply of all Mate® products within the Harvem colourful world  promotions catalogue can be produced with recycled paper. 
  • Example 2 Harvem’s colourful world of promotions catalogue from page 100 to 1001 has an eco-friendly section. Where possible, Harvem will reuse carton and containers for the shipment of products so as to reduce the environmental impact. Harvem also undertakes to continue seeking alternatives methods so as to reduce our own impact on the environment.

Carbon Offset

Harvem will aim to become Carbon Neutral by offsetting its emissions on company energy bills, transport etc.
